Tax Information Disclaimer

Last updated: August 11, 2026

By using Ledjyr's tax-related features, you acknowledge that the information shown is provided for general informational and planning purposes and is subject to the limitations below. This disclaimer should be read alongside our Terms of Service.

1. General Information & Planning Purposes

Ledjyr provides tools for recording income and expenses, viewing estimated tax amounts, exploring what-if scenarios, reviewing a recommended tax set-aside percentage, and keeping quarterly estimated-tax deadlines visible.

All tax-related amounts, rates, breakdowns, recommendations and scenarios displayed by Ledjyr are provided for general informational and planning purposes only. They should be treated as estimates, not as final determinations of tax liability.

"Estimate" means an approximate planning calculation produced from the data you've entered, the assumptions Ledjyr makes, and the tax rules coded into Ledjyr for the applicable tax year at the time of calculation.

2. Not Tax, Legal, Accounting or Financial Advice

Ledjyr is a software product. It is not a law firm, accounting firm, tax-return preparer, financial adviser or fiduciary. Use of Ledjyr does not create an attorney-client, accountant-client, adviser-client or other professional relationship.

Nothing displayed in Ledjyr is personalized tax, legal, accounting, investment or financial advice. Information that appears relevant to your situation may not account for every fact, exception, election, credit, deduction, limitation, filing obligation or special rule that applies to you.

3. Known Modeling Limitations

Ledjyr's calculation engine has real, specific gaps. We'd rather list them here than have you discover them the hard way:

  • Ledjyr currently calculates for the "Single" filing status only — married filing jointly, married filing separately and head of household are not yet modeled, so estimates will not be accurate if a different status applies to you;
  • The Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT) and Net Investment Income Tax (NIIT) are not modeled;
  • City and local taxes are not modeled, other than a planned (not yet built) New York City module;
  • For 24 of the states with progressive tax brackets, head-of-household and married-filing-separately brackets are approximated using single-filer brackets, because state-specific brackets for those statuses weren't available from our source;
  • California's Mental Health Services Tax (the additional 1% surcharge on income over $1 million) is not modeled;
  • The Qualified Business Income (QBI) deduction's wage/property phase-out assumes your business is not a "specified service trade or business" (SSTB) — a genuinely unsettled classification for some creator and service income — so the QBI figure may be too generous if your work would actually be classified as an SSTB;
  • Of the 50 states' tax rules Ledjyr has coded, 13 (plus federal) have been checked directly against a primary government source; the remaining 37 are sourced from a reputable secondary source (the Tax Foundation) and have not yet been individually verified against each state's own tax authority.

None of this is hidden in fine print by accident — it's the actual, current state of the calculation engine. If your situation involves any of the above, treat Ledjyr's number as a rough starting point, not a final answer, and verify with a professional or official source.

4. Set-Aside Guidance & What-If Scenarios

Recommended set-aside percentages and dollar amounts are planning suggestions derived from Ledjyr's current estimate and the information you've entered. They are not a guarantee that the amount reserved will cover your final tax liability, penalties, interest or other obligations — and Ledjyr never moves or holds money on your behalf. Where and when you move money is entirely up to you.

What-if scenarios in the Tax Calculator illustrate how different inputs may affect an estimate, without changing your saved data. They do not predict future income, expenses, tax law, audit outcomes or the treatment a taxing authority will ultimately apply.

Outputs may be affected by rounding, simplified assumptions, incomplete information, timing differences, and the modeling limitations described in Section 3.

5. Your Information & Recordkeeping

You are responsible for the completeness, accuracy, classification and timeliness of the income, expense, filing-status, state and other information you enter into Ledjyr. Incorrect or incomplete information produces incorrect estimates.

Ledjyr's organization of an expense into a category does not determine that the expense is legally deductible — including the business-use percentage you set on an expense. You remain responsible for evaluating, documenting and substantiating anything ultimately claimed on a tax return.

You should maintain the records and supporting documents required for your circumstances. The IRS explains that good records can help identify income sources, track deductible expenses, prepare returns and support items reported on returns.

6. No Filing, Payment or Representation Through These Tools

Ledjyr's planning tools do not:

  • prepare or file an official federal, state or local tax return;
  • submit an estimated-tax payment or other payment to a taxing authority on your behalf;
  • communicate with or represent you before the IRS or another authority;
  • confirm that you have satisfied a filing, payment, registration or reporting obligation; or
  • replace the forms, instructions, notices or determinations issued by an official authority.

You are responsible for reviewing, filing, paying and confirming all obligations that apply to you, using the applicable official method (Direct Pay, EFTPS if you're already enrolled — the IRS closed new individual enrollment — card, or mail).

7. Deadlines & Reminders

The dates and status shown on the Deadlines page are planning aids based on the standard federal quarterly estimated-tax schedule for the applicable tax year. Deadlines can shift for weekends and federal holidays, and your state's requirements may differ from the federal schedule.

Marking a quarter "paid" in Ledjyr only updates what Ledjyr displays to you — it does not notify, file with, or pay any taxing authority. Any reminder or notification feature described elsewhere in Ledjyr is a planning aid, not a guaranteed delivery system, and should never be your only method of tracking a legal deadline. Verify applicable due dates using current official guidance.

8. Tax Rules and Service Coverage Can Change

Tax laws, rates, thresholds, deductions, credits, forms, agency interpretations and administrative guidance can change, sometimes retroactively. Ledjyr may update supported years, states, calculations, assumptions and features over time.

Availability of a state, tax year or calculation does not guarantee that Ledjyr includes every rule or special circumstance applicable to that jurisdiction or period — see Section 3 for the specific gaps we know about today. If an official source conflicts with Ledjyr, follow the official source and obtain professional advice where appropriate.

9. When to Seek Professional Assistance

Consider consulting a qualified tax professional, CPA, enrolled agent or attorney if you need advice about your individual circumstances, including unusual or substantial income, multiple states, a filing status other than Single, entity selection, employees, inventory, international activity, prior-year issues, notices, penalties, audits, or positions that require professional judgment.

Tax professionals have different credentials, qualifications and representation rights. The IRS provides guidance for evaluating and selecting a tax professional.

10. Official Resources

Official government materials should be used to verify current requirements. These links are provided for convenience and don't imply affiliation with or endorsement by the IRS.
